September 12, 1992 - NASA launched the Space Shuttle
Endeavour on STS-47, the 50th Space Shuttle mission, with a crew that included the first African-American woman in space, the first married couple in space, and the first Japanese citizen to fly on an American spacecraft. MTV proposed adding an alcoholic and a steroid fueled amateur wrestler to the crew and renaming the mission
The Real World: Outer Space, but NASA declined.
